Mr. Bastien is the founder and CEO of the financial news company, Creditor's Edge. Founded in 1982, Creditor's Edge was created when, as the corporate credit manager of a large chemical company, he shipped $100,000 in merchandise to a company that filed bankruptcy the day before. The information on the bankrupt company was tucked away on the back pages of the Wall Street Journal. Recognizing that many business professionals don't have the time to scour the numerous sources for information on companies, he developed Creditor's Edge and his financial business news empire began.

In 1996, while his editors researched information on bankrupt companies they were also finding a wealth of information on companies that are growing. Recognizing the opportunity for a spin-off publication as well as missing out on a contract to a competitor, Mr. Bastien created Companies on the Move.
